Michael Anton "Tony" Elder, 73, of Du Quoin, passed away at 1:50 A.M., Tuesday, September 24, 2024 at the Linda E. White Hospice House in Evansville, Indiana.
Tony had been in the banking industry for many years. He was a United States Marine Corps Veteran.
He loved golfing and fishing, and most of all spending time with his grandkids.
He was born June 2, 1951, in Evansville, IN, the son of Samuel Theodore and Esther (Bergner) Elder.
Tony is survived by three children - Ryan Elder and wife Victoria, Christopher Elder and wife Rhonda, and Abby Sroka, all of Du Quoin, six grandchildren - Ethan Elder, Maxtan Elder, Nora Elder, Braxton Elder, Cruz Abel, and Lincoln Sroka, and one brother - Samuel Elder II and wife Sherry of Evansville, IN.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A memorial visitation will be held from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. on  Sunday, September 29, 2024 at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin.
Friends may make memorials to the Du Quoin V.F.W. honor guard and will be accepted at the funeral home.
