Owen K. Peters, 83, of Du Quoin, passed away at 10:20 A.M., Monday, May 31, 2021 at the Fairview Rehabilitation and Healthcare in Du Quoin.
Owen had been a foreman at Alden Press. He was of the Protestant faith. Owen was a United States Navy veteran. He was a member of the Du Quoin V.F.W. and American Legion.
He was born August 7, 1937 at Wamac, IL, the son of Ogden and Mozelle (Taylor) Peters.
He married Margaret M. Hickey on December 17, 1960 at Du Quoin and she survives.
He is survived by his wife of Du Quoin, one daughter - Karen Peters of Chicago, one granddaughter - Jasmine Cajigas and husband Julius of Chicago, two sisters - Phyllis Crawford of Pinckneyville and Lela Kay Cochran and husband Doug of Georgia, and one brother - Richard Peters and wife Sally of Hampshire, IL.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one son - Kenneth Raymond Peters, one granddaughter - Vanessa Lynn Peters and one brother - Keith Peters.
Friends may call from 9 A.M. until 11 A.M., Friday, June 4, 2021 at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin.
Military rites will be conducted at 11:00 A.M., Friday at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin by the Du Quoin V.F.W. and American Legion and the United States Navy.
Burial will be in the Sunset Memorial Park in Du Quoin at a later date.
