Patricia A. Cook, 87, of Du Quoin, passed away at 12:10 P.M., Friday, December 22, 2023 at the Marshall Browning Hospital in Du Quoin.
Pat had been a drill operator for Freeman 11 Coal Mine.  She was a member of the Second Baptist Church in Du Quoin.  Pat enjoyed fishing and cooking.  She was a member of UMWA.
She was born February 14, 1936 in Du Quoin, IL, the daughter of Kenneth and Ruth (Stroud) Sizemore.
She married Donald D. Cook on September 8, 1957 in Corinth, MS and he preceded her in death on July 23, 2021.
She is survived by five children - Ricky Lee Shaw and wife Sherrel, Peggy Teel, Donnie Cook and wife Kelly, Rodger Cook and wife Melissa, and Tammy Doerr, all of Du Quoin, two brothers - Lyle Sizemore and wife Shelby and Marvin Sizemore and wife Cindy, all of Du Quoin, thirteen grandchildren, thirty-two great grandchildren, four great great grandchildren, caregivers - Louise Walker, Shirley Stroud, and Wilma Norris, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one brother - Danny Sizemore and two sisters-in-law - Donna Sizemore and Emma Sizemore.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 A.M., Thursday, December 28, 2023 at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin with Cortney Hale and Ryan Cook conducting the service.
Friends may call from 9 A.M. until the time of service on Thursday at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin.
Burial will be in the Sunset Memorial Park in Du Quoin.
Friends may make memorials to Residential Hospice and will be accepted at the funeral home.
