Phyllis Marie George, 68, of Nashville, IL, passed away at 8:00 A.M., Sunday, September 6, 2026 at her residence.
Phyllis had worked cleaning houses, which she loved to do.  She also loved being outside, barefoot, planting flowers.  Phyllis enjoyed spending time with her family, going to thrift and antique stores, and looking at old houses.
She was born October 14, 1957 in Chicago, IL, the daughter of Kenneth and Shirley (Jones) Ruff.
She is survived by two children - Chatanya "Tanya" Everett and husband Josh of Tamaroa and Heath Alan Taylor and significant other Jordan Heatherly of Nashville, IL, six grandchildren - Sydney Geralds and Patrick, Dalton George and Heath Blacklock, Zavier Eaton, Scarlett Taylor, Cecilia Taylor, and Lainey Taylor, ten great grandchildren and one on the way, siblings - Steve Ruff and wife Kim of Du Quoin, Matt Ruff and wife Agnes of Du Quoin, Johnny Ruff and wife Debbie of Du Quoin, Lois Peppers and husband Troy of Carterville, Rose Mary Sisney of Du Quoin, and Kenny Ruff and wife Sharon of Benton.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one son - Paul Dean "P.J." Taylor, Jr.
Per Phyllis' request, cremation rites will be accorded.
A memorial visitation will be held from 1 to 3 P.M., Monday, September 14, 2026 at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin.
Friends may make memorials to American Cancer Research or Perry County Humane Society and will be accepted at the funeral home.
