Phyllis A. Rury, 74, of Marissa, passed away at 12:05 P.M., Sunday, September 14, 2025 at the Du Quoin Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Phyllis had been a homemaker.  She was of the Christian faith.  Phyllis was a member of Delta Theta Tau Sorority in Marissa and V.F.W. Women's Auxiliary in Marissa.  She enjoyed sewing and making blankets.  Phyllis enjoyed spending time with her grandkids and great grandkids.
She was born March 1, 1951 in Norfolk, VA, the daughter of Philip H. and Alberta L. (Jones) Sheridan.
She is survived by three children - Michael Charles Rury and Nyla of Pinckneyville, Kandy K. Rury and John Krumrey of Du Quoin and Kristy L. King and Scott Bresel of Du Quoin, one sister - Martha J.Wagner and Larry of Marissa, grandchildren - Michael J. Rury and Randee of Du Quoin, Candace D. Simpkins and Tyler of Goreville, Phillip M. Bodendieck and Kaylee of Marion, Peyton Vaughn and Tyler Wilson of Du Quoin, Walter C. King III and Michelle Bodendieck of Baldwin, Dakota M. Duppong and Kallista of Johnston City, Ryan C. Rury and Haley Boisseau of Red Bud, Grace Weeks and Gavin of Du Quoin, Dustin L. Duppong and Christina Leonard of Creal Springs, Abi Cox and Dominick of DeSoto, Ethan Krumrey of DeSoto, Teigan E. Rury of Du Quoin, Bryce McMurray of Pinckneyville, and Vance T. Polisky of Du Quoin, great grandchildren - Haisley Weeks, Karalyne Wilson, Rylee and Nathanael Rury, Braxtyn Duppong, William and Finnley Cox, Paisley and Paxton King, Landen, Charlee, and Issac Simpkins, and Levi, Paityn, Lucas, and Beckett Bodendieck, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother - James R. Sheridan, and one great grandchild - Joy Claire Rury.
Celebration of Life service will be held at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, October 11, 2025 at the Marissa Township Building, 221 E. Mill St., Marissa, IL 62257.
Friends may make memorials to the family and will be accepted at the funeral home.
