Reathel Ann Beard, 81, of Du Quoin, passed away at 2:28 P.M., Wednesday, November 3, 2021 at the Du Quoin Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Reathel had been a factory worker at Turco Manufacturing and MCA. She was a member of the Old Du Quoin Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School for over forty-five years.
She was born July 18, 1940 at Du Quoin, IL, the daughter of Lawrence and Martha (Varnum) Beard.
She is survived by three sisters - Nancy Buskohl of Shiloh, IL, Martha Poiter of Du Quoin and Brenda Segelken (Phil) of Du Quoin, six nieces, three nephews, six great nephews, and two great nieces, very special friends - Millie and Johnny Little and Judy and Pat Giles and her dog - Britanae.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother - Connie Eugene Beard and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Funeral services will be at Noon, Saturday, November 6, 2021 at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin with Rev. Ted Clark officiating.
Friends may call from 10 A.M. until the time of service on Saturday at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin.

Burial will be in the Sunset Memorial Park in Du Quoin.
Friends may make memorials to the Old Du Quoin Baptist Church or Alzheimer's Association and will be accepted at the funeral home.
