Rhonda Lynn Gilliam, 65, of Tamaroa, passed away at 1:15 P.M., Monday, July 25, 2022 at the Marshall Browning Hospital in Du Quoin.
Rhonda had been a bus driver for Head Start for thirty-seven and a half years.
She was born May 29, 1957 in Du Quoin, IL, the daughter of William Dale and Sharon (Lashbrook) Rice.
She married Robert D. Gilliam on June 7, 1975 in Sunfield, IL and he survives.
She is survived by her husband of Tamaroa, two sons - Robby Gilliam and wife Valerie of Tamaroa and Nick Gilliam and wife Samantha of Sesser, her father and step mother - William Dale and Mary Rice of Sesser, four sisters - Kim Russell and husband Leo of Du Quoin, Krista Mills and husband Tracy of Du Quoin, Kendra Campanella and husband Clem of Mulkeytown, and Kelly Brenner and husband Russ of Panama City Beach, FL, one step brother - Michael Lasky and one step sister - Sandra Borkowski, eleven grandchildren, three great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, friends and Head Start family.
She was preceded in death by her mother.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 A.M., Friday, July 29, 2022 at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin with Rev. Leon Kelly officiating.
Friends may call from 4 to 7 P.M., Thursday at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin and from 9 A.M. until the time of service on Friday at the funeral home.
Burial will be in the Sunset Memorial Park in Du Quoin.
Friends may make memorials to Perry County Head Start and will be accepted at the funeral home.
