Rickie Gene Swallers, 70, of Kankakee, formerly of Du Quoin, passed away at 1:55 A.M., Friday, June 21, 2024 at Heritage Woods of Dwight.
He had been a truck driver.  Rickie was a United States Army Veteran and a lover of the outdoors.
He was born April 28, 1954 in Kankakee, IL, the son of Bobby G. and Betty Mae (Russell) Swallers.
Rickie is survived by his two children - Heahter Isaac of San Antonio, TX and Shane Swallers and wife Cheryl of Ridgecrest, CA, six grandchildren - Kiara, Zack, Brea, Brooklyn, Carly, and Rachel, 3 great grandchildren. One sister - Robin (Swallers) Turrell and husband Greg of Kankakee, and one brother - Roddie Swallers of Buckner, IL. 3 nephews and 1 niece.
He was preceded in death by his parents and maternal and paternal grandparents.
Graveside services will be at 2:00 P.M., Friday, September 13, 2024 at the Old Du Quoin Cemetery in Du Quoin.
Military graveside rites will be conducted by the Du Quoin V.F.W. and American Legion and the Army National Guard.
Burial will be in the Old Du Quoin Cemetery in Du Quoin.
Friends may make memorials to the donor's choice and will be accepted at the funeral home.
