Roger James Harris, 71, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 18, 2025.
Roger was born on March 1, 1954 to Johnnie "Peg" Harris and Maxine (Clampet) Harris. They preceded him in death.
Roger worked in asbestos removal and construction. Roger enjoyed fishing and hunting, and loved being outdoors.
He is survived by his sister and caregiver - Peggy Sue Gossage and husband Charles of Cleburne, IL, brother - Phil Moss and wife Debbie of Mt. Vernon, IN, sister - Linda Garavaglia of Herrin, IL, sisters-in-law - Pam Moss and Janice Harris, granddaughters - Brittany and Nikki Harris of Mississippi, great-grandchildren - Lestat, Brooklyn, Allanah, and Naomi, several nieces and nephews, and special friends - Jaclyn Mondino Davis, Hannah Boyd, Darla McGinnis Impson, and Muhammed Popalzai.
He was preceded in death by his only son, Roger William Harris, his parents, brothers - Carl Moss and John Harris, sister - Jean Krug, brother in law Charles Garavaglia, nephews - Zeke Moss, Chuck Pitman, and Chuck Garavaglia, nieces - Cissy Huggins, Janice Graff, and Debbie Moss, and his best friend - George Elder.
Roger asks that any donations be made to the SIH Cancer Center and will be accepted at the funeral home.
Per Roger's request, cremation rights have been accorded. There will be a celebration of life at a later date.
