Roger Lee Kuhnert, 85, of Pinckneyville, passed away at 8:40 P.M., Wednesday, October 1, 2025 at the Pinckneyville Nursing and Rehabilitation.
Roger had worked over the years at Hagler Furniture Store, U.S. Gypsum, Zeigler Mine, Old Ben Mines, and he retired from operating lawn care services and opening graves and being caretaker of Mueller Hill Cemetery in Pinckneyville.  He was of the Baptist faith.
He was born February 10, 1940 in Pinckneyville, IL, the son of Lee Robert and Goldie Esther (Magerkurth) Kuhnert.
He married Mary Elaine Roethe on August 17, 1963 in Pinckneyville, IL.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, one sister - Gloria Kuhnert-Conroy of Pinckneyville, three nieces - Kelli Chmielewski and husband Leon of Pinckneyville, Krista Strait and husband Jeff of Alton, IL, and Joanna Weaver and husband Shane of Virginia, two nephews - Brett Kuhnert of Tennessee, and Aaron Kuhnert and wife Courtney of Ohio, numerous great nieces, great nephews, great great nieces and great great nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers - Virgil Kuhnert and Alen Kuhnert, and one nephew - Kraig Kuhnert.
Graveside services will be at 10:30 A.M., Saturday, October 4, 2025 at the Mueller Hill Cemetery in Pinckneyville with Rev. Rob Mathis officiating.
Those attending the service are asked to go directly to the cemetery.
Burial will be in the Mueller Hill Cemetery in Pinckneyville.
Friends may make memorials to the donor's choice and will be accepted at the funeral home.
