Roger Dean Walters, 86, of Elkville, passed away at 3:05 A.M., Friday, August 27, 2021 at the Marshall Browning Hospital in Du Quoin.
Roger had been a carpet layer. He was of the Christian faith. Roger was a United States Army veteran.
He was born October 4, 1934 at Elkville, IL, the son of James Thomas and Maude Isella Francis (Keeling) Walters.
He married Mona Viola Griffin on June 19, 1959 at DeSoto, IL and she survives.
He is survived by his wife of Elkville, one son - Stanley Tripp of Du Quoin, five daughters - Ceila Tripp of Du Quoin, Cristie Smith and husband Tom of Du Quoin, Shannon Walters of Du Bois, Tracy Cobin and Tom Reams of Elkville, and Jamie Martie and husband Darren of Elkville, one sister - Colleen Milligan of Carbondale, one brother - Robert Walters, and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Private family services were held.
