Roy Eugene Smith, 77, of Sesser, passed away at 1:30 P.M., Sunday, December 5, 2021 at the Integrity Health Care of Carbondale.
Roy had worked as a mold operator for Hicks Oil. He enjoyed working on his 1957 Chevy car, 4-wheelers and lawn mowers. Roy also enjoyed racing.
He was born March 22, 1944 at Tamaroa, IL, the son of Charles A. and M. Marie (Moore) Smith.
He is survived by three children - Roy Smith, Jr. of Herrin, Sheila Lynn Ramsey and husband Ryan of Sesser and Travis Smith and wife Misty of Sesser, grandchildren - Alec Smith and wife Jayla, Bethanie Smith, Kaleb Pierce, Danielle Pierce, Darien Smith, and Courtney Smith, great grandchildren - Kenlynn Smith, Remington Smith, Finley Smith, Pharoh Brown and Empress Brown.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife - Nancy (Skip) Williams Smith, and two brothers - Dallas Smith and Ray Smith.
Graveside services will be at 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, December 8, 2021 at the Antioch Cemetery at Tamaroa with Pastor Charles Gossage officiating.
Burial will be in the Antioch Cemetery at Tamaroa.
Friends may make memorials to the family and will be accepted at the funeral home.
