Samuel S. Landis, 56, of Du Quoin, passed away at 8:38 A.M., Monday, January 30, 2023 at his residence.
Sam had been a member of the Boy Scouts.
He was born December 13, 1966 in Hampshire, WV, the son of Dalton Ray and Clara May (Swallers) Landis.
He is survived by one niece - Ashley Bell and husband Brian of Winter Haven, FL, one nephew - Alex Gibson of Nashville, TN, two great nephews - Christopher Dunmyer of Winter Haven, FL and Dayton Hamilton of Du Quoin.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister - Kimberly Gibson.
Per Sam's request, cremation rites were accorded.
There will be no public visitation or funeral service.
Burial will be in the Old Du Quoin Cemetery in Du Quoin.
