Scott Malinee Gibner, 65, resident of CILA8 in Anna, former resident of Pilot House in Cairo and formerly of Du Quoin, passed away at 10:27 A.M., Wednesday, April 1, 2026 at the Deaconess Midtown Hospital in Evansville, IN.
Scott had attended St. John's United Church of Christ in Du Quoin.
He was born February 21, 1961 in Du Quoin, IL, the son of Gene and Ann E. (Malinee) Gibner.
He is survived by one sister - Tracy LaGrone and husband David of Zephyrhills, FL, nieces and nephews - Ashleigh Bazzell, Cullen Bazzell, Hailey LaGrone, Logan LaGrone, Josh LaGrone, and Meghan Leatherwood, and cousins - Eleanor Parrish, Jo Ellen Kirkpatrick, and John Malinee.
He was preceded in death by his father - Gene Gibner, mother - Ann E. Thing, stepfather - Maurice Thing, aunt - Mary Casleton, and uncle - Jack Malinee.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 A.M., Monday, April 6, 2026 at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin with Rev. Joe Wagner officiating.
Friends may call from 9 A.M. until the time of service on Monday at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin.
Burial will be in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Du Quoin, IL.
Friends may make memorials to Perry County Humane Society and will be accepted at the funeral home.
