Seth Daniel Betts, 21, of Du Quoin, passed away unexpectedly at 2:46 A.M., Friday, March 15, 2024 at the SIH Memorial Hospital in Carbondale.
Seth was a person who enjoyed many activities including riding four wheelers, dirt bikes and working on all vehicles.  He worked as a mechanic.  He was a member of Lighthouse Church in Royalton, IL.
He was born January 17, 2003 in Carbondale, IL, the son of Steven and Gail (Woodsides) Betts.
He was is survived by his mother and step father - Gail and Bill McManus of Pinckneyville, paternal grandparents - James and Kathy Betts of Du Quoin, four siblings - Dominica (Joshua) Hill of Fort Sill, OK, Landon Betts of Du Quoin, Brandon Scarber of Du Quoin, and Chelse McManus of Panama City, FL, one nephew - Liam Hill of Fort Sill, OK, uncle - Scott Betts of Du Quoin, aunt - Sherry (Douglas) Tudor of Du Quoin, cousins - Brett (Maggi) Tudor of Oakdale, IL, Danielle (Michael) Guillory of Sulphur, LA, Brittany (Coleton) Kearbey of Du Quoin, Kaylyn (Jesse) Walters of Fort Campbell, KY, Kevin Woodsides of Pinckneyville, several other cousins, aunts, and uncles.
Seth was a faithful friend to many people, especially his best friends - Brent Wallace, cousins Tyler and Trevor Dunmyer, Carrie Glidewell, Seth Barnes, Brian and Evan.  The family also wants to thank Joseph and Gina Dunmyer, who were always there for him.  They were like another set of parents and a second home to him.
He was preceded in death by his father and maternal grandparents - Donald and Toni Woodsides.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 P.M., Thursday, March 21, 2024 at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin with Bro. Joseph Dunmyer officiating.
Friends may call from 11:30 A.M. until the time of service on Thursday at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin.
Burial will be in the Greenwood Cemetery in Mulkeytown, IL.
Friends may make memorials to the family and will be accepted at the funeral home.
