Sherry Dunn, 79, of Du Quoin, passed away at 10:20 P.M., Friday, May 15, 2026 at her residence.
Sherry retired as a custodian for Southern Illinois University in Carbondale.
She was born August 28, 1946 in Du Quoin, IL, the daughter of William H. and Olive Louise (Pierce) Gilliam.
She married Ralph Dunn and he preceded her in death on May 3, 2004.
She is survived by one son - William "Billy" Newborn of Du Quoin, one daughter - Lori Malinski of Du Quoin, and grandchildren - Jordyn Kellerman, Josh Knight, Jacob Newborn, and Elijah Newborn.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one sister - Janet Mydler, two brothers - William Gilliam and Richard Gilliam and one granddaughter - Laci Knight.
Per Sherry's request, cremation rites will be accorded.
There will no public visitation or service.
