Steve Poe, 61, of Du Quoin, passed away at 7:59 P.M., Monday, January 9, 2023 at his residence.
Steve had been a mixer operator at General Tire. He was of the Baptist faith. Steve was an avid hunter and enjoyed shooting guns. He was a member of the National Rifle Association.
He was born January 30, 1961 in Du Quoin, IL, the son of Mearl H. and Angie (Rossi) Poe.
He married Cheryl Moore on August 18, 1990 in Du Quoin, IL and she survives.
He is survived by his wife of Du Quoin, two daughters - Annie Daniels and husband Shawn of Elkville and Tiffani Maddox and husband Daniel of Du Quoin, five grandchildren - Keagin Daniels, Seth Daniels, Everett Maddox, Elsie Maddox, and Isla Maddox, one sister - Carolyn Rice and husband Dennis of Du Quoin, two aunts - Lillian Pulke and Catherine Feltmeyer, both of Du Quoin, and numerous cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one daughter - Chelsea Lynn Poe.
Memorial services will be at 3:00 P.M., Saturday, January 21, 2023 at the Christian Fellowship School/Velocity Church, 616 US Route 51, Du Quoin, IL.
Friends may call from 2 P.M. until the time of the service at the church on Saturday.
Friends may make memorials to Christian Fellowship School or Du Quoin School Weekend Warriors Program and will be accepted the day of the service at the church.
