Steven Joshua Fred, 45, of Du Quoin, passed away at 2:57 P.M., Thursday, October 13, 2022 at the Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau, MO.
Josh had been a welder at Prestige Trailer. He was a member of Gospel Assembly Church in Du Quoin. Josh was an avid fisherman and hunter. He also enjoyed horseback riding.
He was born July 5, 1977 in Du Quoin, IL, the son of Paul Steven and Minerva Jane (Lively) Fred.
He is survived by his parents of Du Quoin, two brothers - David Fred and wife Christina and Matthew Fred and wife Heather, all of Du Quoin, and nieces and nephews - Morgan Fred, Matelyn Fred, Lane Fred, Trey Morgan, Bella Richardson, Maci Caraker, Layton Caraker, Shayna Caraker, Michael Shearer, and Colton Shearer.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents - Elmer F. and Lillian Faye Fred and maternal grandparents - Archie Thomas and Jane Lee Lively.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 A.M., Monday, October 17, 2022 at the Gospel Assembly Church in Du Quoin with Rev. Gaylen Holden officiating.
Friends may call from 10 A.M. until the time of service on Monday at the church.
Burial will be in the Old Du Quoin Cemetery in Du Quoin, IL.
Friends may make memorials to the Gospel Assembly Church and will be accepted at the funeral home.
