Terry Douglas McClanahan, 77, of Elkville, passed away at 12:25 P.M., Tuesday, May 30, 2023 at the Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, MO.
Terry had been an electrician for the coal mines and worked at Consol Rend Lake Mines.  After working at the coal mines, he was a custodian for the Elverado School District.  Terry was of the Baptist faith.  He was a member of UMWA.  Terry loved hunting and fishing and was a NASCAR fan.
He was born August 8, 1945 in Du Quoin, IL, the son of Raymond and Erma (Richerson) McClanahan.
He married Lorna June Metheny on November 21, 1964 in Robinson, IL and she survives.
He is survived by his wife of Elkville, five sons - Terry P. McClanahan and wife Paula of Du Quoin, Jesse J. McClanahan, Bradley A. McClanahan and wife Teresa, Brian D. McClanahan and wife Wendy, and Christopher L. McClanahan, all of Elkville, two sisters - Glenna Harrison of Du Quoin and Linda Stewart and husband Tom of Robinson, IL, eight grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers - Raymond, Joe, Steve, and Tim.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 A.M., Monday, June 5, 2023 at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin with Rev. Joe Wagner officiating.
Friends may call from 9 A.M. until the time of service on Monday at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin.
Burial will be in the Sunset Memorial Park in Du Quoin.
Friends may make memorials to Perry County Humane Society or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and will be accepted at the funeral home.
