Thomas J. "Tom" Morgan, 90, of Du Quoin, passed away at 7:10 A.M., Thursday, January 14, 2021 at his residence.

Tom had been a welder for Du Quoin Machine Works and had worked in maintenance at the Du Quoin Fairgrounds. He was of the Protestant faith. Tom was a United States Army veteran of the Korean War. He received the Korean service medal with three bronze stars. He was a life member of the Du Quoin V.F.W.

He was born December 10, 1930 at Du Quoin, IL, the son of Silas and Anna Morgan.

He married Martha Berger Freeman on October 13, 2012 at Du Quoin and she survives.

He is survived by his wife of Du Quoin, three children - Wayne Morgan of South Carolina, Mark Morgan of Dowell, and Vicki Morgan of Herrin, three grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, nine brothers and sisters and two grandchildren.

Per Thomas' request, cremation rites were accorded.

There will be no public visitation or funeral service.

Burial will be in the Old Du Quoin Cemetery at a later date.

Friends may make memorials to the American Diabetes Association and will be accepted at the funeral home.
