Violet Irene Bishop, 91, of Du Quoin, passed away at 10:35 A.M., Friday, February 11, 2022 at the Carle Hospital in Urbana, IL.
Violet had worked as a licensed beautician. She was a member of the Sunfield United Methodist Church.
She was born August 9, 1930 at Du Quoin, IL, the daughter of Herschel and Bertie (Farthing) Huggins.
She married Paul Edward "Puge" Bishop on June 24, 1950 at Du Quoin, IL and he preceded her in death on July 16, 2019.
She is survived by three children - Paula Baty and husband David of Ohio, John Bishop of Du Quoin, and Scott Bishop and wife Cindy of Long Beach, CA, one sister - Joyce Clark of Du Quoin, three grandchildren, and three great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and six siblings - Emery Huggins, Howard Huggins, Wayne Huggins, Nelson Huggins, Thelma Higgerson and Emma Lee.
Funeral services will be at 3:30 P.M., Saturday, February 19, 2022 at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin with Rev. Ted Clark officiating.
Friends may call from 1:30 P.M. until the time of service on Saturday at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin

Burial will be in the Sunset Memorial Park in Du Quoin.
Friends may make memorials to the Sunfield United Methodist Church or Gold Plate and will be accepted at the funeral home.
