Wallace Paul "Wally" Hunt, 75, of Du Quoin, passed away at 3:35 A.M., Monday, May 15, 2023 at the Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis.
Wally worked as a Controls Engineer with Key Safety Systems in Knoxville, TN.  He was a United States Navy Veteran of the Vietnam War.  He was of the Catholic faith.  Wallace was an avid Tennessee Vols fan.
He was born October 29, 1947 in Du Quoin, IL, the son of Wallace Dale and Juanita Catherine (Thill) Hunt.
He married Mary Jane Hoffman Kerry on June 11, 1983 in Du Quoin, IL and she survives.
Wallace is survived by his wife of Du Quoin, two daughters - Paula Hunt of St. Louis, MO and Theresa Hunt of St. Louis, MO, two step daughters - Sheryl Bruce of Long Beach, CA and Laura Dalman of Du Bois, IL, six grandchildren - Katherine Hunt, Evan Hunt, Mark Dalman, Jason Dalman, Noah Bruce and Ryan Bruce, one sister - Jean Ann Joyner of Marion, IL and many nieces, nephews, and great nieces.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A Memorial Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M., Tuesday, May 23, 2023 at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin.
Burial will be in the St. Charles Cemetery in Du Bois, IL and will be held at a later date.
Friends may make memorials to Perry County Human Society and will be accepted at the funeral home.
